awesome, still haven't heard anything back since last night about if we passed 16 but I feel its likely we did by now.

Just also wanted to let people know if I don't have you on as confirmed on the list on page 1 but you DID buy the deposit let me know. once it closes I am going to send out a PM to 2 groups (limit is 14 in private convos) with the coupon code. If for whatever reason you didn't get invited into one of the convos just PM me.

We officially are at 18 :D so everyone for sure is getting the full 10% off their orders. I asked him if he could have the code for us ready by wednesday, so that'll be the night I can give it to everyone. i had more than 18 say they were confirmed so thats why I want to leave it open until wednesday, which was the week deadline.

I can give you my reviews of what I consider the top 4 choices. Now one review is the blackvue dr490-2ch but it's virtually the same thing as the dr590-2ch that replaced it in less then a year, just as a different rear cam but as far as I know the same specs. This group buy requires $250 minimum order tho so if you get the dr590-2ch you would need to get the power magic pro (which is pretty much a must with these cams anyway to use the parking mode) and possibly gpsand memory card upgrade or whatever accessories to get over $250.

My personal favorite, which is the most expensive is the f800 pro. Fair warning my reviews can get long and boring with my monotone voice lol:

This cams main competitor is the blackvue dr750s-2ch. The dr750 has a few features much better than the f800 pro like a cloud feature that is much more developed than thinkware. You can get notifications to your phone even when your truck is parked somewhere. The issue is you need an always on hotspot to achieve that which for me and most people would cost $15-20 a month and not that reasonable. You can use it to connect to your home wifi too tho if you park close enough and could still get impact notifications. I prefer the f800 pro for a few reasons tho. The f800 pro has a much simpler hard wire kit. The blackvues require the power magic pro which is a small swotch box that allows parking mode and adds a low voltage cut off so you don't train your trucks battery too low, and a timer so you can have it shut off after a certain amount of time. Thinkwares hardwire kit is just the cables that go straight to your fuse box because that low voltage protection and timer is built into the camera itself so no external box.

I personally use a cellink battery b so I don't have to run the cam off my truck battery. It's probably not that necessary but I bought them when I had a little Civic. The cellink battery b is also sold by blackboxmycar and it's designed specifically for dash cams. The problem with it and blackvue tho is since blackvue doesn't have the timer built in you can't have it cut off after 12/24/48 hours etc.

The thinkware f800 models also have a power button so when I park in my garage I shut it off manually so I can save battery. Again it might not be necessary but I do it because I live in MN and don't wanna risk cold weather draining it over night. I also have a short commute so I might not drive enough to recharge it.

Here is the slightly cheaper f800 non pro too which doesn't have cloud features (the f800 pro cloud features are very limited tho, if you want cloud features the dr750s is the way to go). It also supports only 64gb cards where the other cams all support 128gb. 128gb can be very useful if you use parking mode and get hours of footage each day in parking lots. The f800 non pro model is my least recommended of these cams personally.

And of course the dr590-2ch which I think is the best value of these cams starting at $200. It lacks wifi so you can't use a smart phone app to view files or use the cloud. It lacks gps but that is an optional add on. Wifi can not be added later. What's great tho is it has similar video quality and the same great parking mode.

So I typed all this on my phone and I'm exhausted now haha but parking mode is the special feature of these cams most budget cams half ass.

Here is vortex radars video that explains some of it well:

The key feature of these cams parking mode is the fact that it's pre buffered. So if you just have impact detection on and someone hits your parked car you get 10 seconds leading up to the impact not a clip that starts recording after, because it's always prebufferring 10 seconds of recording waiting for an impact. This way you aren't constantly recording to your memory card and using more power. You can also use motion detection but if you park in high traffic areas you can end up with just non stop recording. Motion detection can be useful tho because it can catch vandals that wouldn't otherwise set off the impact detection.

There are alternatives like the budget a119 which has great video quality but lacks the advanced features like these cams. These high end ones will even tell you how many impacts it detected when you start your truck up. You gotta be careful tho because if the sensitivity is too high you shutting your door sets it off even.

Ok that's all I got for now haha. Check out my channel or many of blackboxmycar's guides on their site www.blackboxmycar.com they have tons of info on why parking mode is useful and how to hardwire different cams.

You mentioned the battery b when ya had a civic (what I currently have). Think that’s necessary? Could I do that in lieu of the power magic pro?

personally i would not get one unless you have battery problems. If you live in a cold climate you might just want to set the cut off to 12.2 or even higher, and limit it to 12 or 24 hours max so if you are parked for a few days its not just draining your battery.

Ok got the coupon code set up, will go live at midnight tonight. I am going to PM everyone in a group message the details. People still have until tomorrow. since we are over 16 nobody actually has to buy the deposit anymore so thanks to the people who did, but if anyone wants to get in on it send me a PM. of course you will all get it refunded once you make the purchase. they can just match up the emails with your orders, but to make it easier you can put "tacoma world group buy" in the shopping cart notes when you place your order.

Once I place my order and pay, will the cam be shipped or is shipment contingent on getting full payment from 16 buyers?
