    No regrets with the modification. Just a simple mistake on my part. Lesson learn, next time bring it to my mechanic & buy him a full case of Old Milwaukee light.

    Does the 2.7 have a secondary charcoal “filter” after the air filter element like 2nd gens used to? I also ran a K&N in my 2nd gen without issue for 7 years. I could never imagine any oil “droplets” making it through that charcoal emissions filter and bunging up the MAF sensor....

    Now in my new 3rd gen im running the factory toyota filter and will not go back go any aftermarket after reading some research on the topic..

    I was told that these filters have an oil mist applied to the filter itself, which may in turn give off vapors that are alarming a sensor in your truck through the air intake. I have not tried these, but when I heard people had issues I just kept it stock

    take your k&N filter media and hold it up to the light, all those pin holes are places dirt will get in.
