Ok so i know all about the recirculate button to stop outside air flow when the truck is moving.

Heres what i have going on, i have the recirculate button set to fresh air so i can have the fan in the off position and the temp in the hot position, and the mode in the feet position, i like to just have that warm air flow in the winter, i have a cell phone mount in the driver upper dash vent next to the radio, when im driving theres warm air coming out up there, none of my other vehicles did this, its causing my phone to get very warm after sitting there for a while.

if i turn to recirculate obviously all air flow stops. does anyone elses truck flow warm air up top when its set to only blow on the feet?? i cannot close the vent this will defeat the purpose of my cell phone mount,

there should be no air coming out up top at all when the selector is set to feet. all blend doors and the hot water valve are operating as designed. anyone else have this same thing going on or is it just my truck. any feedback would be awesome, thanks.

I have a 15 trd off road and mine does the same thing. Even when I turn the air off I still get some coming out the vents... Kinda bugs me

Same here on my 15. I thought I had maybe bent a pin on the back of the climate control when I was in the dash so I pulled it off to check. No bent pins and still the same symptoms as you. For some reason it seems like Toyota decided to have auto defrost even when set to "floor only" position.

It's for defrosting of your windows. Should "mostly" come out the side vents closest to the door windows, and very little out the center 2 vents.

Put your phone in the cup holder like a normal person. You don't need to be looking at it while driving anyway :D

Seriously, it's not a big deal and I barely notice it at all. I appreciate the defogged side windows. No, there's nothing you can do to change the way it circulates that I've seen mentioned yet, :sorry:

My 2012 is the same! Annoys me when it's snowing, I like leaving the windshield vents off so the snow doesn't melt and blows right over. But there always seems to be heat coming out of somewhere

im mostly talking about the 2 vents on either side of the radio. and i keep my phone up there because i use it as gps since my truck doesnt have it, either way there should be air coming out the side vents all my other cars did that but the 2 center vents on either side of the radio should have no air coming out when the mode is set to floor. Its super agrivating. And if i have the heat fan on at all theres even more air coming out up there, theres a mode selector for a reason so we can direct the air where we want it. clearly toyota messed something up. i work for acura and when the heat is set to floor there is no air coming out the center vents, a little from the sides by the windows but none from the radio area vents.

Mine does the exact same.. Heat will come out of those vents even if i it selected to floor. It does cause my phone to get pretty hot, mine is there for gps also.

I haven't noticed any air coming out of my center vents when set to floor only. it does come out the top defrost vent and the window vents.

Ah, I see now. That's an important part of the puzzle.

How about one of the tech decks? They're pricey, well beyond what I'll pay for a small piece of steel/aluminum with holes in it, but seems like people have money to burn lol
Suction mounts can be had for ~$10 too.

If I ever use my phone for GPS, I have it connected via bluetooth at all times, Google Maps will override the music and I can hear the directions. Want to say I've seen some cup holder mounts as well.
