Grease in the 2" receiver hitch ?

    Has any one put Grease in the 2" receiver hitch ?
    I wonder if this will help with the surface rust I see. :notsure:

    I spray it with T9 a couple times a year. Grease it too much of a mess for me.

    grease is kinda messy. those tow balls get beat up a lot and rust is kinda normal. if you get the high quality chrome balls, they last a little longer but eventually it wears off to. i usually just it with a quick rust reformer paint from homedepot every once in a while.

    I use grease on the ball...I assumed the OP was referring to the receiver on the truck, not the ball mount.

    i spray all my hitch stuff with fluid film. I wipe down after to cut down on the mess
