Lift bumper snorkel wheels tires

Hello, I have a 2013 Tacoma with the base touch screen stereo. The screen looks washed out and flickers. Sometimes when it is really cold it goes back to normal only to eventually return to washed out. Does anyone know if I could replace the LCD on the factory stereo? Is this a common problem? The dealership did not have any answer other than to replace the whole unit. Any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks
