No need for people to start a dick measuring contest over precense of a snorkel or lack thereof. We should start calling people mallcrawlers for plasti dipping their badges, Ricers for adding colored vinyl over their tailgate embossing, antiestablishmentarianists for debadging, FCC brownnosers for putting money toward a HAM license,

Some of you need to lighten up and realize some shit people add to their vehicle CAN just be for looks. But also sport the “have it and not need it” notion.

I think it's hilarious that you people actually get all worked up about rear disc brakes. Drums work fine.

The mechanical portion of the drum test confuses most of the “tuners”

    Who’s a tuner here? There’s only 1 tuner I know.

But really... why are people still dying for rear disc?

    Like, so many.
Is there a such thing as a retractable snorkel? Kinda like a periscope. I could get on board with that.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Because changing drum brakes sucks and the front discs on a Taco are so freaking easy to work on that Toyota surely wouldn't f^$@ up discs on the rear, too.

Is this a serious question? Because it's 2018 and these are $35-40K trucks...

Or a removable one with a door like the gas tank fill up (hopefully more robust) that closes off the existing air flow when attached. That would be functional without screaming mall crawler.

That would be the coolest gimmick ever, mall crawling aside.

Just like the go pro mount. Which I am fully taking advantage of.

More importantly, why isn't facing the back of the truck for better aerodynamics????? I know, I know, more airflow!!!!

How often do you change shoes vs disc?

I understand the year and cost. But that doesn’t explain why the drum brakes are bad.

I don't really care that the rear brakes are drums but just...why though? They'll do the job but just why?

Who said they're bad? I want better, and I want my truck's brakes to look like they aren't from a 1970's hatchback. Disc brakes are completely standard on vehicles on this point (and have been for pretty much my entire life at this point), except on our expensive trucks, and it makes zero sense. There is no excuse for our trucks not to have them, when every other new US Toyota does - including the damn Yaris.
