Subaru does apply them for you if you don't get to it in time. Wife had auto-braking slow her down fast when someone pulled out in front of her.

That is cool but I wanna be able to ram stuff. So we'll need to incorporate an off switch

I didn't think they allowed mentally challenged people to drive. :goingcrazy:

Could be; I haven't seen the '18's yet.
If that is the case, the system will likely still shut off at low speeds (sub-10mph) to allow for offroading. But, if not, just put a strip of duct tape over the 'eye' and it'll think it's obscured, flash a warning light on your dash, and shut off.

In my Honda I had Forward Collision Mitigation that would stop the car if you were about to hit something. It was on default and you could turn it off with a button on the dash. Then there was radar cruise control that would keep your speed you set and would follow a car in front of you at a distance you choose. It would slow you down and speed you up but never over the speed you set. This was default off and you could set it as any cruise control. So all of these can be turned off or left off depending on what system you were looking at.

I bought a kit from brendanwebster911 for the Nav and Camera. It is a splice in wire kit behind the stereo control head. The post is below is where I bought it. I think he is sold out and deployed overseas. He is in the military.

The kit was easy to install. Some splicing and wiring.

Also KB Voodoo has the kit for $65. Its the Camera only not the Nav

I've driven with it on my wife's Rav4 for 2 years. Works just as you'd want it to. Saved us from a small fender bender in a parking lot. Adaptive cruise is the only way to go. I wouldn't get a car without.

I’ve been looking for an empty parking lot to stack a box or something and ram it at different speeds.. but i live in socal.. kind of difficult to find such empty areas lol.

Actually just came back from a trip this weekend. It wasn’t anything major, just a really shitty trail but I never had any issues with the sensors.
