I was told if towing(20' bass boat) that I should use 10 ply tires. Is that an accurate statement or does it matter?

    Thanks

Answer is it depends. Yes, 10 ply tires would be stronger. Weight of boat, trailer, cargo, tongue weight, road you're on, speed you're going, heat of the day, tire weight rating, etc, etc all factor in.

You're likely fine with C rated tires instead of E rated. P tires depending on what you have may work too. See the towing forum here.

You will be fine with C rated tires that are in good condition and properly inflated
