Luck and timing are everything. I found a Cavalry Blue Pro online 100 miles from home on Thursday afternoon just as it was being offloaded from the carrier. Literally called the dealer less than one hour after it was delivered. Made the deal on the phone on the spot, not even 100% sure I wanted a Pro but knew I had to grab it. Was up all night Thursday growing more and more excited, realizing that the TRD OR I was planning on was now going to be a Pro. I think I wanted a Pro all along, just didn't think it could happen without a long wait or some other compromise. I pick it up Monday!
I've had my fair share of car deal disappointments so I guess it was my turn to win the coin toss! I probably won't sleep until it's safely in my garage Monday afternoon! :fingerscrossed::taco:

Suspect that was not a 'build' but a find of what you wanted already available, just needing to be shuffled.

Very few everyday vehicles are 'built' to customer specs any more.

Mostly the productions are all the model lines/trim packages/color combo mixes (in predictive quantities), then additional accessories are added at the port.

IE if you can easily buy it at the parts counter, it was likely added for you at the port.

This seemed to be my experience. Put in a deposit for a 2018 Cement TRD OR DCSB (no packages) on 12/1/17, thought they would build it. Kept bugging the dealer to get a build date like we had gotten for my wife’s Subaru a couple years ago and he never had one. Apparently these cement ORs are getting scooped up quick. Finally last week he told me they had one coming in that had a tech package. Was able to haggle the price down on the package and agreed to take that one. Should be here January 25th!

Put a deposit in October for a DCLB Sport in Silver with premium & TECH packages. Truck arrived on December 17 without Premium package (Silver not available in that configuration). Deposit refunded, got 2 dealers trying to get a DCLB with premium & tech in cement, white or blue.... They all say one is coming.... Still waiting...

Took 1 month when I placed my order. But the dealer had that allotment coming to them already whether I ordered it or not. (Canada of that makes a difference)

My build date is Feb 7 (was originally supposed to be today, got pushed back twice in the last 2 weeks). We'll see if it actually gets assembled on Wednesday, but dealer estimates it'll arrive end of Feb. This wasn't an "order" but instead was just some dumb luck on my part finding the exact truck I wanted already allocated to a nearby dealer.

I put my order in on 1/15 and my dealer called me yesterday to say it was allocated.

I’d ordered bed lights and a roof rack but the factory refused both saying bed lights are not available and that the rack is dealer install
Everything else ( premium, tech, mudflaps, tonneau ) were approved.

Originally put a deposit for a 17, in August last year. Ended up having to wait on a 18, cause I didn't want the Tech or Premium packages, but had to have the MT. Came in Monday & worked out the deal today. It's in the driveway tonight.

Ordered my Super White DCLB w/ Tech and Premium packages on 1/3. Got a build date of 2/24 on 1/25. I'm in AZ, should only take a few days to get it to me from MX. Counting the days!!!

Wow, some of you have waited a long time. I decided on Christmas day that I wanted to get a new Tacoma. Got pre-approved with TFS and started searching the next day. Found that local dealers that had one wanted $5k+ over MSRP, so I started widening my net. Kinda changed my mind about it all on the 27th until I called a dealer 160 miles away that had one on their web site. Just stock pics. Called to see if it was taken and they said "Why no, the person that was going to buy that just backed out because of credit issues they didn't have 3 months earlier." I asked what color (they had the basic white photos on their site). It was blue. Gave them a CC# and my TFS pre-approval # and told them I would be there the next day by noon. Drove home with it a few hours after I got there.

I had to have the quicksand OR with premium and tech and there were literally none available in our entire region or allocated, confirmed by multiple dealers that ordering was the fastest route. I did have options in other colors which I didn’t want.
