I can't deal with people anymore when it comes to the hot button topics. Thanks to the pseudo-anonymity of the Internet the art of a well argued point backed with facts has raced down to petty name calling. Typically the loudest mouthpieces on any issue have the least tact.

I'm over it. I can barely watch the news these days let alone listen to people argue on the Internet. I joined the town pages hoping to learn about what is going on in the town and I'm greeted by thousands of lost dogs, political crap and other things in which if you don't agree with the poster you're stupid.

Can people just be nice to each other? Is this even possible anymore?

Aaaand that went entirely too off-topic.

I looked at the Craigslist rant thing.

It's been a long winter. We have a beautiful new baby but we've been housebound more or less since she's gotten here and the wife and I have been sick off and on for like two weeks lol.

Just need some positivity and people arguing over stupid stuff on the internet ain't it lol.

 

We can help with that! All we do here is BS, and poke fun at me, so join in on the fun!

 

And get the fuck off of the internet and go watch The Alienist!

Very true. I try and jump on after work and catch up.

That's not to say I'm not loving life with the baby, she's the best thing that's ever happened to us. I think with her around I'm trying to be a more positive person but seeing all these headlines about nuclear war and people being awful to each other has gotten under my skin a bit too much. I need that nice sunny afternoon to open the windows and crank the stereo and on a freezing morning when it's dark and I'm on the way to work it just doesn't do it for me.

 

I feel your pain man... Believe me, it's not easy.

 

To be honest, I don't even watch the news. It's always bad shit, this bad thing happened, that bad thing happened... Fuck that. I watch kids stuff with my kids! At least they are cheerfull shows!

 

That came up because I just cause I just finished that.
But find something you both like, get comfortable and enjoy that.
But get away from the CPU for some time.

Yes, new babies are hard. Can be very hard.
It like the Marines. Boot camp is hard that's what makes you good Parents.

Makes sense! My daughter is never not smiling which always cheers me up.

You are absolutely right. We are always commenting on how lucky we are. She sleeps through the night 95% of the time so far and never doesn't have a smile on her face. I find myself just watching the baby sleep and smile at how amazing she is.

The doldrums of winter are just taking their toll right now. I get like this every winter and then once spring hits and I get some clean out done around the house I'm recharged.

 

With news media it's "if it bleeds it leads", they have an incentive to try to catch the viewer's attention and when they do their revenue increases. What really helps me has been limiting how much media I consume. I like to stay informed but I find myself almost eliminating any news, that and exercising/ getting outside in nature has increased my happiness + my health too.

Two hour school delay down here.

 

Morning! 2 HR delay here too. Shhhh! Wife and kid is sleeping - I'm on my way to the diner for.... Bacon.

 

Once the light turns on, I gotta load up the snow blow and go clear off some stuff in Hancock. Hopefully my plow last night didn't turn my driveway into an ice rink this morning.
