Picked up this new SR5 DCSB yesterday after quite a while of searching. I have been daily driving my track car (BMW M3) for the past 8 years, so this will definitely make my commute to work a tad easier. I plan on modifying this thing quite a bit so will eventually make a build thread for this once parts start arriving but for now this will do. Just need to figure out which of the lifts will work better for towing while still working well off road and whether I want RPT1s or TE37s for this. Enjoy the pics of the Taco and the M3! Also I will be selling the running boards and mudflats off of this if anyone wants them.

    welcome!

i got sick of maintaining 2 personal vehicles, and i got sick of driving around a highly modified road car that could never even approach 2/10's on the road not to mention 9 or 10/10's where the fun is. the most expensive and least useful toy i ever owned... the last of 3. so i modified the Taco so i can drive around at 8 or 9/10's every day all day and it's way more fun than any track car i ever drove. strange, eh?

nice E36, just sharing back atcha.

I'm leaning towards the te37s, but I have yet to see the RPT1 on the 3rd gen and I also have always wanted RPF1s so it could satisfy that craving.

The BMW has destroyed my bank account over the years. I'm glad that this will at least be reliable while I drive it or at the very least cheaper to maintain.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

I was in-between the silver and BBP... still can't decide if I made the right choice or not haha.

    Thanks!

Exactly the way I have been viewing it. I really love the M3, but it is fairly useless on public roads at this point. Over the years of having it I briefly had an RX300 and an Avalon, but the Taco is far better than they both were. It's nice to have something that is easy to drive around yet still fun. My only thing now is I can't use my car as an excuse for not coming into work on days with bad weather.

    Thanks!

Yea I’ve only seen a few rpt photos and have only seen two 2nd gen tacomas.

The machined silver was very nice in person, if I didn’t have my te’s.. I’d definitely would have the rpts!

Awesome combo! I actually ended up getting the exact same taco because I didn’t want to put winter tires and wheels on my F80. And the poor M3 hasn’t left the garage in the month since I got my beloved Taco. Congrats all around. I’ve been going mod crazy the past month, I’ll post pics as soon as possible.

Nice new Taco. I’m about to spring for a taco to replace my old F150,which has been good but after 19years, I have my questions about reliability while I am in the mountains and backcountry. I’d like to post my fair weather ride, one that my wife likes also, a M235 xi. I’ve had it for almost 2 years now.

C546367E-D09F-4B2E-A87B-F7BEDD9724BE.jpg It satisfies my need for speed (recently gave up motorcycles).

I mean there's no reason why I can't have more than one set of wheels, but for the truck it's hard. At least on the car I could justify track wheels, street wheels, show wheels, etc. but a truck doesn't need that. I will probably call around before I do it since I do have accounts with both Enkei and Mackin Industries (Volk).

Oh wow, that's an awesome setup you've got! Surprisingly most BMWs are amazing with snow tires, but it is just much easier/reliable to have something like the Taco. No looking back at this point, plus the girlfriend enjoys these seats much better than my race seats with 6 pt harnesses.

Hahahah I have used this name on other forums for over 10 years with thousands of posts... after all of these years it'd be weird to change it.

Thanks! My only fear is letting the fun of modding another vehicle get to me and turning this thing into something that I can no longer daily drive.

I actually looked into F150s quite a bit when I got this, but I was too afraid of it not fitting into many places that I go. As far as the M235xi goes though, those things are truly fantastic! Those turbo BMW motors make excellent power and the awd system on them is a blast.

Thanks! It was the first time in all of my years of car buying that I actually got to choose a color by preference rather than price, availability, etc.
