Better as in challenging, really one technical spot but if you have a 4X4, it won't be much of an issue.

I went last month- 2 maybe 3 areas I had to get out to examine. But overall MUCH needed 4x4 area. Def not your typical gravel road

I go up there pretty often and always go up the chimney mountain side. Going down the Tray Mountain side leaving is fun cause you can get some speed and its a few miles long (pretty awesome). I enter chimney mountain through 356 and eugene rd. From what I can tell there are two Chimney mountian rds cause it forms a big loop with the trail entrance in the middle, this side was still unpaved when I went a couple weeks ago.

Went to Tray mountain today and had a blast. We started on TM Rd side and worked our way up to the overlook. After the overlook, I went first and got to the point past the pipe drop off, heading to the overlook, where it was well rutted. Being newcomers and making a judgement call, we backed out so we would not be at risk being our first time. We shall return!

Wanted to post this in the Athens thread before going larger.

I am selling my AFE ProGuard5 oiled intake for the 3rd gen V6 at $370. Not problems with it all no codes thrown even after 10k. Just trading the truck for a SR 4cyl manual 4x4. Pics to come after I clean the housing.

I really helped below 2000rpm and improved my mpg. It can be loud but if you use the plug it greatly reduces the noise.

I live out in Anroldsville down 78. Always in Athens, Watkinsville, Epps Bridge area. I just bought myself a 14’ Taco. Not used to being in a midsize. Some of y’all might have seen me in my GMC Cummins I built.

BTW I live about one mile from the Redlands WMA. It’s a pretty fun place to ride and I’m down to go anytime. I also install lifts, custom fab, wiring, repairs/maintenance if anyone needs a local to turn a wrench.

Welcome! I hunt the Redlands during deer season - I've tried to ride the trails a few times, but the gates were closed both times. I'll hit you up if I head that way again. Hope you enjoy the truck!

I hunt there a good bit too. No harvest this year for turkey or deer. We usually spend a good part of the summer at Arnolds Mill (the waterfall) on the very north end of the Redlands. So far I love the truck, selling the beast in the morning :(

I've never been to Arnold's mill - will have to check it out. And yes, it was a very dry season out there for deer.

Hey guys, not in athens, but not far. I’m in Braselton and ride and camp with a bunch of guys, one being @KaptainH and few nice Toyota’s... and a few Jeeps. Great group of people. Always looking for some others.
