I'm doing new plugs while I'm at it. What are all you guys running. whos got the best plugs out haha

Do you people really notice a difference between the NGK plugs and Denso plugs?

This may not be applicable to the 5VZ, but I put densos into a 22re a number of years ago and thought I was going to blow my truck up. I stopped by the auto parts store on the way home from work that day and got ngks, like I should have done in the first place, and put them in that night. Back to normal after that...

    Dear Zbadboy,

Are you considering purchasing this truck? This is what I would if I was interested in the rig. I listed all of my steps below the body of this email message.

    1. I would pull the CarFax report on it.

    2. I would thoroughly inspect the frame.

    3. Put the thing through a compression check

    Good Luck,
    Paul

Look on EvilBay for a gasket set that includes EVERYTHING you need, when i did my valve cover gaskets, it included new Denso sparkplugs.

If you shop carefully, making sure the parts are what brand you want or are willing to settle with, it's cheaper to buy in bulk.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
NGK or Denso are your best bet, both OEM. I put Densos in mine recently, was just under $20 from dealership. Just make sure they're the dual electrode.

Hello Fellow Tacoma Junkies and Addicts,

Here is my take on this spark plug dilemma. They came from the factory with both Nippondenso K16TR11, and NGK BKR5EKB-11. Some members on this site that are original owners of their first generation Tacomas have reported that when they first changed their spark plugs, they have found NGKs on one side and Nippondensos on the other side. Personally, I am not denying the fact that some members that have posted to this thread have not noticed a difference between the two manufacturers, but for the most part, people would be hard pressed to find a difference between the manufacturers of these two spark plugs.

    Take it easy,
    Paul
