Capital District NY Meet Up

I bought 4 cans the other day at the Northway Mall Lowes to do my tractor (for snow removal) and snowblowers.. it was at the end of the isle in the tool section along with wd40, 3-in-1 oil, etc.

If anyone knows of a shop that does it for vehicles, I'd like to have my new truck done as soon as I get it in a few weeks. I'd rather pay a shop to do it since it's already winter.

 

Is there a 2018 schedule for meets?

 

Nope.. we haven't met yet. Maybe this will be the year

 

I’m hoping we can pull something together, it would be great to put names and faces with the trucks we see around town.

 

Just thinking out loud here but maybe we can do a camping meet up in the Adirondacks

 

I like the idea of something off Moose River Plains Rd or #4 Rd by Stillwater Reservoir. Any other Paul Smith’s College Alums? The Alumni Campground is pretty cool.

There have been a couple/few FF fiestas in the NE area before winter flies.

 

I've been using arosol cans from Lowes, but i found some this week at a lumber yard in maine I like the convenience of the 55 gal drum.

 

Yeah, that works too, esp. if you have lots of friends.

 

I would like to nominate myself as event coordinator. Put some spurs into making a schedule.
I was thinking of one of the events being at during one of there normal non-event days.

What is everybody's wheeling experience level? I have been wheeling for 6 years, though this is my first year with a taco. I have lots of experience with winching and recovery techniques.

 

How do you quantify that?

Mostly forest service type roads/easy trails. 99% solo. Pretty much stock height truck w/ winch.

Lots of experience with stuck equipment, not sure if that counts much.

 

I have a stock truck and have done some pretty sketchy wheeling in cortland county when we had a big TW meet up bout 8ish years ago.

 

that just means we can get others unstuck
Curtis lumber (exit 13) has a jeep 101 day and I'm trying to find out if they will do one for trucks.

 

Curtis lumber said that trucks are not allowed on there course.
