Do you have your browser on desktop view? Sometimes I forget to switch it back after looking at... Stuff..

 

Not to sound like all other tech support, but did you try exiting your browser and reopening? How about restarting your phone? Sometimes mine does this and typically clears up if i close the tab and reopen.

Yes. What everyone else said. I had to redo all the screened gable vents in my old bungalow becaue some dipshit had put 1/2 mesh on the outside for them all (diminishing the wooden architectural detail in the process) and accomplishing nothing in terms of exclusion. Pack steel wool in any really small holes that won't get rain on them. Rats ran along the power and phone lines along the alley at dusk, and would take those right down to the weatherhead, house eaves, etc.

At the "new" house, I knew there was evidence of past activity. I heard them scratching at my feet in the kitchen. Under the crawl space where the HVAC lines were punched through the wall, they hadn't done jack shit to screen or block, so I spent some quality time down there with 1/4 in mesh and my Makita. For the rest of the week, the cat dropped a dead mouse at the back door every day. I also put some plastic snap trap under there with peanut butter. About a month later, pulled out a dead rat. Pest guy threw in a bunch of his poison pouches, and pointed out an area in the stucco weep screed where there was a gap nea a big planter box (which was on the exterior of the area in the crawl space we saw heavy evidence), and told me to jam more steel wool in there. We jsut had the whole HVAC system for that side replaced, and when they dropped down the suspended air handler from below the floor joists, huge old nest in the insulation with tons of poop. These fuckgin owners just didn't have a clue. I found useless Tomcat box traps in many areas, all empty of course and surrounded by mouse shit.

Also, reduce/remove any vegetation against the foundation wall. Hidden highways and as other pointed out, snail habitat.
