304 Stainless Steel, 1.5" x 1/8" square tube. Attached to the bed bolts. Cut and bent by yours truly. Welded by the welders at my work. Cost was about $300. Same goes for the rear tire swing out 304 SS attached to my SOS concepts standard rear bumper.

read through this thread a few times since I've started my build. https://tufport.com/adventure/
This is the camper I'm looking at putting in the t65 model but also the t55 is a option. I'm concerned on weight since the truck struggles in the mountains going up grades. I'm tuned so that has helped. I'm really thinking I'm going to have to regear to 5.29s. The camper weights 600lbs dry and will be on the truck all the time. Right now including me and what mods I've done I'm 500lbs into my 1300lbs payload. I'll be using it for weekend trips mostly and one or two weeks excursions. Hopefully my thinking is on the right track.

Lots of variables, tire size and transmission being the big ones. What is your primary elevation?

I don't have experience with the auto but you may be on the right track with 5.29s.

5.29s made a world of difference for me, it’s no rocket by any means but feels like how the truck should have felt out of the box

I'm deciding not to go with the heavy camper. Going to go with a AT overland topper. My build is for mostly weekend trips and maybe a week long trip here and there. So I don't need a big camper now. When I retire and we're into the 6th gen I'll look into it some more. Keeping it light is the key for me.

Keeping the weight down and the tire size minimal i have found is key, i think the biggest upgrades for power wise is regear, header and tune. If you dont have a header might be a worth while upgrade, its a great engine but is in too heavy of a truck. It really depends on location as well its hilly in NC where i live with 70 mph speed limits its like a race track. I know Utah has high speed limits as well, when i travel back to NY to visit family speed limits are 55-60 i sometimes even find myself in the fast lane. I also think when OTT gets updated it will help, even re geared 3000-4000 rpms truck feels like it has ok power its under the curve that feels a little flat. If justin can squeeze out another 5-10 that will be huge considering it doesn't make much power that increase could be 10% should be felt. I went with ecgs 3rd members if you ever go down the re gear rabbit hole. I did the swap myself rear is extremely easy, front took more time all in out the door fluids, shipping the cores etc it was $16-$1700.

I sent him a message about the update. He's still waiting. Hopefully soon. I've thought about doing the rear myself with some help. I have the the tune running it on the medium.

Sounds great i think that can be a nice bump once completed, the rear is honestly an easy 1 man job. I did it in my apartment parking lot took about 2 hours from start to finish with clean up. The front was still to me easy but more work since you have to pull the cv's, i drove around with the rear only for about 7-800 miles and made sure not to hit 4wd knob by accident. Makes the painfully slow truck feel normal slow, highway driving was increased the most. I like the spicy setting and i have the vf dongle so ive tried every setting 2-3x and also gave KD Max a run , it can be a little jerky at take off if youre not careful but its my favorite throttle input once you get up and moving. I found the 2.7 even after a re gear seems to feel better with the more aggressive inputs
