It's somewhat stiff but I've never had an issue with the pedal not returning as some had reported. The block heater is always plugged in when the expected temp is going below -20c and the truck is running for at least 15 min before I drive off.

I really need to get a block heater.... A few of these real cold days were pretty rough.

Can't wait for 1.03B M/T to drop, hopefully right after cupid. We can't call our tune that BTW, we don't want confusion :)

    Something related, say... "arrow"?

Lol, I'm gonna go have another coffee and re-flash my truck with 04B10 test tune. The throttle response has dulled a wee bit over the course of a few thousand km.

For those that have this tune 1.03, have you used 4lo off road? If so, any feedback?

Also, what about 2nd gear when you are trying to do a rolling stop or similar? I HATE how gutless and unresponsive it is at low rpm and speed. Many a time I have tried to use 2nd at low speeds and rpm's and its like the truck wants to take a nap. I literally have to pin the pedal to get any speed and then wham, it finally hits and then I have to let off the pedal and there is a very noticeable lurch to get back into the power band about 2-2500k rpm's and above. (hope that all makes sense)

It seems unless I come to complete stop to downshift to 1st, 2nd is all but useless at "rolling stop speeds".

Tune took care of any complaints I had about rolling stop speeds. Second gear is useful again. I use first way less than I used to.

I haven’t used 4lo much yet but will in the next few months.

No, not yet. Just trying to mentally prepare for the cost lol.

Also, I don't have a Windows based laptop so been trying to figure out that. I personally don't want to use a VM to run it on my mac. Just me, I'm weird like that.

Totally worth it. It’s totally changed the truck to be more inline with what I’d expect from the factory and it’s only going to get better with the next release.

Plus he only has a few dongle kits left, so if you don’t get in now you’ll be waiting a while.

I bootcamped my Mac to do the flash. I’ve got more disk space than I know what to do with anyway.

AS others have said, 2nd is much more useful at low speeds than it was on the stock tune.

There's no weirdness in 4lo if that's what you're asking.. I mean, with the torque multiplication there really wasn't a lack of power in low. The throttle response is much better on the tune, but not so much that it's overly twitchy or anything.

DFCO is still a thing, but that's because Mat hasn't touched that yet. My complaint on it has to do with inconsistent engine braking, in particular when going down a steep hill and trying to control speed with the throttle (4lo 1st or 2nd gear).

Try going downhill into Jackson hole, WY. It’s like engine braking doesn’t exist.

    I don't even... nope!

Another thing I hope Mat will look into is OTTO only mode. I may be wrong, but keeping the engine at it's highest compression ratio should help with engine braking, no?

My idea was to somehow force OTTO below a certain speed, say 20Mph.. others want Atkinson gone completely. IIRC, Mat may be experimenting with OTTO/Atkinson to see what the difference is mpg-wise.
