Well done.. What percentage of the noise do you feel you reduced it by..? My attempt lowered the noise by around 40%, but I need more and will do the "dyna mat" or similar stuff if if can find it in the boonies here....!!

Thanx for the pics........ I think that foam makes a real difference..!

The foam is great and I think it’s the best option. The stuff I used is flat on one side and has peaks/valleys on the other. I experimented with both orientations towards the vents.
The flat side towards the vents disrupted air flow and actually did not reduce the noise level - merely changed its pitch.
With the peak/valley side towards the vents the noise level is decreased by at least 75%. I like to think that the recesses allow enough airflow and that the angles (think stealth technology ) disrupt the sound waves.
Bottom line is it works perfectly and I have not experienced any negative effects such as increased cabin pressure or fogging. BONUS: my tunes sound better too!

I may have to try something like this! Do you by chance have the rear diff howl? My howl is pretty loud and I would love to quiet it down some. I would imagine this would help a bit.

Update. I drive with the back seats down and it’s quiet now.

That's what I wanted to hear.... I also drive with the seats down..... Only 3 people have sat in the back since Oct. /15...
Head rests removed from the rear as well....damn they block a lot of rear vision..!!

Can't wait for warm weather so I can finish this "fix"....:annoyed:

I had my back seats down the other day and it sounded like I left 1 of the back doors open, gonna do some sound deadening in the back of the cab when it warms up.

I added some CLD tiles and Ensolite to the back wall. It made a huge difference.

How thick is the Ensolite stuff? That’s the black closed cell foam, correct?

I believe 1/8" and double layered. I bought it from RaamAudio.com

Awesome, thanks. About how many sq ft did you use for the back wall?

It comes in 1yd sheets. I bought 2 and had plenty left over.....but I also double layered. If you only single layer, 1yd is plenty.

Also, I believe it was a combination of both the CLD tiles and the Ensolite that made the difference.

Awesome, thank you!! Yes, I’m going to put down some 80mil sound deadener first. Then I think I’ll do a layer of Ensolite. I’ll extend the sound deadener down under the rear seats as well as into the c-piller .

My plan exactly with using MLV in a few days. Glad to hear it would be an effective solution with those vents and won’t lead to pressure issues.

To confirm before I assume, your saying you went right over the two vents with MLV?
