Does anyone have a picture of their 5lug with the 3in fabtech spindle lift? I wanna get an idea of how big of a difference height will be before purchasing.

Depending on who you speak to, you'll hear 3 to 3 1/2 inches height gained. Although spindles typically will make your front rubber stick out 3+inches. I spoke with a rep at Fabtech about this and he was a total d**k in the conversation. He indicated your wheels stick out due to big negative offset wheels that people tend to use now a days. I also spoke with a very nice gal at Doetsch and she admitted it's inherent in all spindles design to increase outward mounting point at least a couple of inches. Thus with negative offset wheels, you'll be at over 3'' sticking out from the fender lip. Very few popular wheel choices in positive offset wheels that will clear brake calipers.
With that being said and no spacers on your rear wheels, the truck will have a goofy appearance.
It stands to reason if you desire the lifted big wheel look or the ground clearance, IMHO it might be more prudent to start with 4x4 or PreRunner 6 lugger.
It's not my intent to shoot down your idea, I did at one time look down this path since owning a 5lug 2WD, but I've convinced myself otherwise.

My parents won’t let me get rid of the truck due to I have so much money into it already, so I’m just going to lift it and do with that I got. My rims don’t have an offset, and I have 2inch spacers all the way around, you think I could do the spindle lift and take the front spacers off but keep the back on to make it look better?

Since I got it 3 months ago I’ve done; 5% tint all the way around, Sound system, Wheel spacers, Bedliner, rims, new tires, LED underglow, LEDs inside, blacked out headlights, color matched front grill, Custom Toyota grill, blacked out headlights and break lights, HIDs, new tranny, and wanting to do a Tuner, lift, and mud terrains.

With a spindle lift you need like 3" backspace on your rims or the wheel is going to rub the spindle.

What tuner are looking at? I really haven't found much info on anyone making a tuner for the 1st gen taco

I’ve got dick cpeks, they are the same as regular rims just look better, they don’t have offset or anything, and I’m just getting a plug and play one that goes into my computer.

By chance do you have a pic from the front or rear of the vehicle? Also what are the rim specs?
    Thx in advance

It doesn’t look like it makes much of a difference in height, did you notice a difference in person? I know it’s only 3” but I want it to still have that “lifted” look.

You’ll notice the difference especially when you first get in the driver seat. But compared to everything else spindles are going to give you the most bang for your buck.

Rims are U.S. Wheel - 15x7 - 3.75" BS. These are the only other pics I have from when it had spindles only.

Here’s a picture of my 2000 Tacoma 5 Lug with the 3inch Fabtech Lift, Some Advice I wish I would of known before getting it is to make sure it’s 100% what u want, After I got it I saw the Long Travel Kit that Total Chaos has for the 1st gen 5 Lug and wish I would of looked at some other options, Not that many when it comes to 5 Lugs like ours, Right now I’m in search of a Coil Over Kit for the Front!

I’m working on a budget so I’m thinking the spindle lift will be my best bet.

Their spindle, UCA, coils, and AAL kit adds more travel (not much) and lift. Makes the 5 lug look like a 6 lug. And its half the price of a LT kit so if you stay on the street or on a budget it be ok

i have spindles in front and 2” spacers all the way around the front does stick out more then the rear but not to much that it looks bad. I only run spacers in the front due to my rims didnt have proper back spacing on my rims that is required by the spindles. I have 17x8 4.5” back spacing, spindles required 3 3/4” back spaceing. that outer most tread section is about the distance it sticks out past the rear. its hard to really tell in photos. But i normally have no rubbing with 245x65x17 after minor triming of the plastic guard. I do how ever rub slightly at full lock and full compression

Did you do the pinch weld mod? The pinch weld sticks out about 3/4" inside the fender well. Just grind it down flush with cab. Real simple

No i havent. I have hit it with a tourch and pounded it back some so there is no rubing while driving normally. But ill hopefully will be lifting the front another 3” soon so im sure i will have no rubing issues after.
