I have been resorting to this forum for years. Owning three Toyota's, I resort to the forums for advice. Thus far, the Tacoma forum has helped me with the following:

-failure for transmission to shift out of park (faulty electric relay on brake pedal) FYI, you can override the lockout by lifting up on the little cover on the shifter (very small square cover at rear of indicator) and pushing a pin in with a ballpoint to get it to shift. Not wanting to wait for aother relay, I pulled mine apart and cleaned it with electronic cleaner and lubed it. No problems for the last 45K miles!

-rear leaf spring replacement under recall. Truck kept getting lower and lower after towing heavy loads or loading bed up. Love my new springs and no more begging dog look rolling down the highway - lol!

-replaced all shocks with same Bilsteins same as factory TRD's. Rears - easy peasy, fronts - PIA, but doable. Didn't disconnect torsion bar, but links instead along with ball joint? Discovered you have to lift both sides to relieve the tension on the torsion bar and use a crow bar to muscle it into position upon reassembly. Bottom bolts were a bit more difficult to remove. After first one, second one came out lickity split!

-replaced front brake pads (suspect OEM at 105,000 miles) Still had 1/8" of meat on one side. Bought truck used at 60K and previous owner was marginal on maintenance. Super easy replacement process on fronts! Two screw drivers, pliers to remove clips. Did one side at a time to prevent rebound on opposite side of caliper. The easiest replacement I have done. Rotors were perfect, thus no turing. I learned from owning Honda's, throw warped rotors away and buy new. Preferrably factory as I have had terrible luck with aftermarket rotors on other cars.

Special thanks to all forum members who contribute to this great forum!
