Does anyone know the price range of getting a quality 2-4WD convertion?

I have a 02 Tundra TRD Off-Road with the 4.7L and in the future, I was planning on taking it someplace to make it 4WD. Does a dealership do this or do I need to go to a specialty place?

Probably just be cheaper to buy a 4wd and sell the 2wd....if your not doing the work yourself.

I am just worried that I won’t find any 1st gen Tundras for sale anymore by the time I do this operation.

People always ask about this. It's doable, people have done it, it's NOT easy. Custom fabrication is required.

If you like a project, are a mechanic and welder/metal fabricator, and don't depend on the vehicle being roadworthy all the time, go for it.

For the vast majority of people, it's a rabbit hole nightmare. MUCH easier and cheaper to buy a factory built 4x4 and sell yours.

Completely agree with Sharpish. I did a 2wd to 4wd sas conversion and it was a great experience and fun sometimes? The truck is great afterwards but I’d only recommend buying a factory 4wd.
