Those are on the short list for my next tire...
What size and load rating you got there?
First set of those on a 3rd gen?

First set on the truck but I ran several sets on my 5th gen 4Runner. Very good in the snow. Maybe the best AT tire on wet roads. Great braking. They ride well. If I had any complaint it would be they start getting sorta loud around 35-40K. Not bad but definitely louder than when new. Most tires do that though.
These are SL (standard load... the new designation for P rated) and stock 265 65 17 size. I drive too much to start doing mods that hurt efficiency. I put the 4Runner wheels on there just to make it a bit different

A long while back, I worked for both the two largest tire manufactures, and I can tell you, there’s much, tons that I don’t know about tires.

However, after much research the auto maker selected and equipped the truck model you drove out the lot with the best tire that the maker feels will be the best all around fit for the way it will be driven and used by most people who buy that model.

The OR for instance maybe expected to be used in a more aggressive offroad terrain than a V-6 TRD sport or 2.7 sr, and selects the tires accordingly.
There’s usually a bidding process once the intended use of each model is determined which include specs, but all tires are expected to be able to reasonably handle a wide variety of terrain safely including hwy, wet and snow but master non (terrain) exclusively, because that’s not how most people are expected to use that model.

And this is were you come in, as only you know if your truck is headed for Baja, Moab, Snow plowing duty, the hwy at 80+ mph 95% of the time (like me), the mall crawl and/or more.
Each situation, each owner may require a different type. Selection is not so hard once you check off all the right squares.

    Have FuN :D
    Cheers!

Sound is not a big deal to me...
Does the performance fade after so many miles?
My KO2s feel like they hit a wall at 20,000.

I ran a set of at3s out when I first got my truck, not a true mud tire but they did pretty well. Alot of wheel speed was needed but it got me out of everything I put them through as a teen

No they continue perform well. They wear well too. So we'l I only rotated every 10K whether they needed it or not.
One other thing - those tires do like to hold little baby gravels after going off road. If you look at the tread design closely you can see where the tread is stepped and how gravel could get wedged. Still pretty much my favorite tire.

This is what I disliked with a set of General Grabbers I had on my last Dodge . I drive a lot of gravel here and those stones were always either stuck in or flying out of them . Full glass ins. coverage is a must here . The stock Wranglers do not have this problem . The price of the Coopers and the Generals is a LOT more reasonable though .

Thanks for the offer . I would like to get an extra OR rim but I had and did not like the Grabber AT2's I had on a Dodge . They always had stones stuck in them or flying out of them . You must have 265/75 16 E tires ? That is what I had and I do not see a 265/70/16 available .
