And you can't adjust while they're on the vehicle?

you don't have to do anything with the rear. you can set the fronts at .85 or 1.75. I believe the 12's + are set to 1.75 due to the rear having tsb leaf springs.

I would like to know this as well. I have 5100s all around and the new frame with the new leafs. I measured from the ground to the top of the fender and by my calculations it's about 1 1/2 inch difference. I know that the rear will eventually settle but will it settle 1 1/2? Not sure. In the meantime I've got the ability to make it level and would like to do so. Wondering the process. Hopefully this can be done while installed. Just take the tires off the front and use a pair of pliers to move the clip up to the second notch. I'm guessing because I have limited knowledge at best. Any help would be appreciated.

Generally no you can't adjust the clip to the next groove while the coil is still on the strut, they need to be compressed/coils removed/set the clip to the desired height/compress & re install... then alignment...

I am probably pretty late to the party on this, but I am about to put bilstein 5100s on my '96. I have ride rite airbags to make up for the saggy blown out stock leaf springs. Since I have the air bags, I don't think I necessarily need new ones (unless the break) or an AAL. The best information I have been able to gather says the rear shocks don't work with 0 lift, but will the airbags make up that difference? I was sort of thinking about getting a set of Traxda 1" blocks to make sure that I have the 1" rear necessary for the shocks.

I keep seeing the word “rake” what does that mean?

And what is “.85” a measurement I use with a measuring tape on the shocks? So confused.

    Sorry, noob here.

Thank you. So for example, the front being higher than the back and vice versa?

Also, the link is not working.

"rake" is usually when the rear is higher than the front.

I will get Bilsteins and ome leafs.
...will try to take off the small leaf (that is on top of the overload),
... get a 2 degree wedge or shim under the new leaf pack to later space the center bearing to sit lower,
...match the rear bilsteins to the leafsprings high to the 3rd notch (1.75 one)
...replace pins Ubolts and bushings (any brands and specs advice are welcome here)
...fix new raking by installing front bilsteins on the second notch (0.85 one)
All suggestions will be considered, mostly the ones that will save me time and headache$$$
as you can see, the ride now is so bad, that the bed is getting out of center the shell is hard to sit in place (leaks)
I want to do this myself, because in the process i want to be able to reach places with POR15, that normally are impossible!
    thanks in advance

Hello there, so i have a 1st 4x4 and i just ordered a set of bilstein 6112. i would like enough room to fit 33" tires. i was advised to set preload at .85 with Eibachs as well.. is this still the case for the 6112 like it would be for the 5100?
