I finally decided to pull the trigger yesterday. I've had a 2004 PreRunner since 2009, and have wanted to get a newer one for the past couple of years.

Friday, at work, I spent all day scouring the entire state of Florida for Tacomas with options that I wanted. I found what I thought was an awesome deal at a Hertz in North Palm Beach, but after doing a title search, saw it still had a lien on the title. I found a Limited at Alan Jay Toyota, about 10 minutes from the house, but I didnt want to pay for leather seats, since it wasnt something on my list. Alas, I found a good price on the Sport model I was looking for, and it only had 800 miles on it! The kicker was, it was in Gainesville, nearly 4 hours away. The wife was not pleased, but agreed to go. We ended up at Southeast Car Agency. I had the best buying experience there.

Initially, a buddy at work was wanting my old truck. It had 203,000 miles on it, and the body was beat up a bit. Last summer some kids shot up like 100 vehicles in the Sebring, FL area, and my 2004 was a victim of 3 pellet gun holes. one hit right in the A-post. It didn't penetrate, but left about a 1/4" embed. I told my buddy I'd sell him the 2004 for $4000 unless the dealer offered me more, at which point, I would let him know and see if he wanted to match them. I got up there and they offered me quite a bit more, and bad news for my buddy, he didn't answer his phone.

It was a good 4 hour trip back home. A lot smoother with a LOT less road noise! I coudln't be happier!

Meet Freya. Not the truck...the dog.

Yes it did! I hadnt had one mechanical problem, other than when the intake plenum ground wire came loose and the temp gauge and transmission went haywire... that was fun figuring out...

Nice truck, good luck with it.

Nice name also. Did you name it that because you found it on "Freyja's day?

    And welcome to TW.

I feel like I did. Without the trade and after tag, tax and title, It was just over $34,000. Manufacture date of it was 05/17. Title history showed someone only had it about a month as a lease. Guessing they bit off more than they could chew or just didnt like it. It only had 829 miles on it when we left the dealership. I saw a new one at the local dealership this morning (wife now wants a 4runner) that was exactly the same other than color and it was $42,000.

Congrats on the truck you will enjoy it. I let my 2002 taco go for a 2017 and it was difficult at first but after a while the new taco will grow on you fast .
