Would totally be cool and the gf wouldnt argue one bit! This would be the first tw meetup thats semi close to me haha. Also it says their trails are only available to campers or more specifically the NEA. I bet if we were like nah we tacomaworld they wouldnt care event or not.

They hold weekends that are open to the public throughout the year. They do a season opener weekend and 4th of July weekend that anyone can sign up for. I'm sure they would entertain a group weekend for Tacoma world if you could guarantee a big enough group. I have been part of a non-NEA group that rented out the property in October for a long weekend.

I camp regularly up in Pittsburg at the Lake Francis campground. There are a few sites there that even while being in a state campground, you feel a little bit away from people. There's also a large area for RV's and trailers.

There's a state campground further up route 3 that I always forget to stay at... Deer Mountain. But since I camp there to fish between 1st CT and Lake francis, I've never ventured up that far.

Mollidgewock is also my other spot I camp at regularly, when I float and fish the Androscoggin. I think almost every site there is on the water, so launching a boat right from the campground is really convienent. But many of the sites there wouldnt' be accessible for a truck+RTT.

While I was on a family vacation out west in Yellowstone, we did a short white water rafting trip, and got to talkign with the guide. He was talkign about how many of the summer rafting guides will drive into the national forest there and camp for free. As long as you're a certain distance off the roads (I think major ones) and or water, you can camp anywhere (he camped in the back of his truck on a mattress).

Got me to thinking... anyone ever do somethign similiar in the white mountain national forest? I have been daydreaming about driving up on a friday night after work, pulling off onto some road in the NF and popping open a RTT (which I don't own... yet) and then waking up and finishing the drive and start fishing asap. It's a 4 or so hour drive to pittsburg or Errol from where I live, so getting a few more hours to fish would be great.

My intuition is that this plan really isn't possible with so many people and roads, but it's been rattling around my head for a while and this thread reminded me of my scheme.

Most roads in the forest have restrictions on camping within a 1/4 mile. Tripoli Road would be the most popular of the few that don't have that restriction. Just too many people and not enough space like the places out west to really make dispersed camping work.

FYI for all the camping rules/restrictions: https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5363715.pdf

Unfortunately the east coast isn’t as open to this as the west....

California, Nevada Utah.... so on all the blm land and national forests are like this and full of forest service roads.... 4th of July last year in California my wife and I went out in Stanislaus national forest, we got 20 miles in on dirt roads and didn’t see a single person the whole weekend. Had a killer spot on top of a knowl looking out over the whole valley. No cost or anything ... just needed a fire permit

Been looking into this now that I am back east and it seems pretty much everywhere you need to stay in a previously impacted designated primitive campsite ... and there are nearly as many open forest service roads...

Doesn’t look like the white mountains have to much which is a bummer ... green mountains seem to have more potential. North Maine woods seems to be the best possible option

I am a seasonal camper at Hinsdale Campground in Hinsdale NH. It is in the south west corner of the state a few miles from Brattleboro VT. There are not truck trails but they have a parking area for quads and dirt bikes and you can ride the trails right behind the campground on those. The campground has tent sites and weekender sites for campers. Lots of seasonals and we def know how to have a great time around the fire. There is 2 swimming pools for adults and kids, a game field with horse shoes and bocchi, a pavillion for gatherings and a rec center for indoor gatherings and a SMALL arcade room. The campground does all kinds of things throughout the season. Hay rides for kids, balloon fights, crafts, we have big meals and parties on holiday weekends along with halloween throughout the campground, thanksgiving dinner in sept, christmas etc.
Its not anything special but we have a blast and alot of us seasonals have quads. If anyone is interested, pm me for more details or to chat when u r going. (we are there april 13th-halloween.)

    Just reorganized all my gear.

Also bought the kit for my grill to hook into a regular propane tank instead of the little green 1lb shit jobs and bought a 5lb tank to go with it.

I live in Plymouth NH, have backpacked and tented at a lot of spots, done a fair amount of campgrounds too. Zealand road campgrounds are cool, there are some further back on the access road. and a few spots you can drive up old logging/fire break roads and camp also.
