I bought my Tacoma back in June and have been slowly installing all of my equipment from my 2 previous cars. I am an installer by trade so it's hard to want to do this after working all day but I can't stand the factory stereo and I need to enjoy my commutes. Even my beater Civic has a pretty good system in it.

Started off by replacing the Entune garbage with my Pioneer NEX 4201. I have had this uint for a while. This time I used the iDatalink Maestro for the interfacing. Everything works great and I am very happy with it. I especially like the ability to use factory came to keep an eye on the trailer while towing.

I started prewiring all of my signal and speaker wires. I usually run new wing to every speaker from the amplifiers.

I ran 0 gauge for power but did not take a picture.

I have Focal KRX3 components for the front sound stage. I used HPDE to make all of my speaker adapters in the doors.

Installing the tweeter and midrange posed a small problem as I did not want to use the factory location at the top of the dash. I chose to make a pillar pods.

And the final product on the pillars

I do have the sound up and running but my amps are just temped in behind the rear seats. I am using a Mosconi 6to8 processor that I am still tweaking as well. I will update as the project progresses.

Also what dash kit and Miestro Piece did you use for this head unit. This is the last thing I need before I get started myself. Again great great build

Great build! What did you wrap your pillars with? Looks like grille cloth or something else?

    Thanks

I have 2 Focal FRP 900.6 amps. Running all active 10 speakers and soon to be 1 sub.

Also used the standard Maestro RR coupled with the correct harness for the year of the truck.

I did use grille cloth. It's the easiest and usually available around the shop. Plus it's a pretty close match.

The mic is mounted at the top corner of the drivers a pillar. If you look closely you can see it in the pics.

Very nice I just bought this headunit today. I hope I like it, I'm tired of that POS entune crashing almost every time I make a call. What dash kit did you use? did you need more then the maestro harness for install?

Yes same questions as above. I am almost ready for my own sq build. Also without cutting do you think you could get the 4 inch mid you have there in with the 6.5 all in the 6x9 opening ?
