Am a new member looking for a little help recently my 2013 Tacoma lost 4 wd. The indicator light stays on but front wheels have no drive . I checked the drive shaft it is ingaged ,I lifted the front rh wheel it to is locked thus truck should be in 4 wd . Back out of the garage after truck is warm and 4wd works for the first 5-10 min make a few turns and a popping can be heard once and a while and then no 4wd .i inspected cv shafts they look ok I took the actuator apart it looks ok and works fine ,front dif shows no sign of failure but yet problem persists .any input would be much appreciated

Wonky story, and difficult to read with your grammar and spelling issues. How again do you know that the front wheels have no drive? What surface are you testing this on? Your reference to the fact that popping can be heard makes me think you are testing this on pavement.

Sorry spelling was never a strong point
I’m in Canada we got no shortage of ice to spin tires on here . I can see my rear wheels spinning wile the front are stationary. I just tried it again after re installing the 4wd actuator. Had 4wd for the first few min , then made a hard rh turn , heard a clunk and no 4wd again . But yet the indicator light stays on solid

Both rear wheels or just the one with no grip on ice as you have an open diff? I've got an open diff on my base 4wd and find the ABS controlled LSD useless. The tire with the least grip just spins.

Makes no sense on a 4wd truck. It can't just go out when it is engaged unless something is seriously broken, but you have a 2013.

Just one is an open dif to. Tried it in an ice covered parking lot . When the 4wd works the truck will jump forward. With no 4wd the truck just sits there and spins . I drive on ice 7 months of the year , loosing 4wd stands out in a hurry. I thought about the major damage to . The front dif has no debri in it, cv shafts look good . The coller the 4wd actuator moves feels good and grabs the splines tight. Front drive shaft locks up and turns smooth in 4wd , no other noise or vibration. I’m starting to wonder if it’s an electrical problem. I wonder if that switch in the front axle actuator goes open ,if the transfer case actuator will shift out of 4wd but leave the indicator light on.
