mr_jrock BR build thread

Hello All,

Decided to start a build thread for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed TRD Sport in Barcelona Red.

I got this truck because the wife and I just had a baby about 10 months ago and driving in my 2011 X-Runner wasn’t really practical for a family car/truck. The wife owns a Honda CRV so we were doing ok, but at times we had to use the xrunner for truck purposes and the wife kept nagging.. I mean.. suggesting to me that I had to get a bigger truck.. so here I am.. A new dad with a (new to me) truck.. ready to take over there world.. one mod at a time..

Almost completely stock when I got it..

Not to sure if it was factory tint or aftermarket but glad it already had it.. but I plan on going darker and/or use ceramic since it’s a little hot here in Las Vegas sometimes..

First night I ripped off the bottom guard / valance from under the front bumper and gave it that *ahem* “lift” look and personally I think it looks better..

Ordered some ventvisors and a custom sticker from @CBoy808 (hit him up for your sticker/decal needs).

As of now: I’m looking into getting some running boards because I’m short and my wife is short and didn’t realize how high these 3rd gen Tacomas are.. so yah.. I’ll lurk around TW find what’s suits me..

 

After what seemed like forever (which it was) trying to figure out the elusive background custom image setup that should’ve only taken 10 minutes - 20 minutes at the most) I finally knocked that out... 3 hours later

So if anyone needs help setting up a thumb drive on a Mac.. then finding the right size images.. and/or cropping down one that you really want (personal preference to fit the whole screen).. then setting it up on the truck to transfer and load and display.. then I suggest you read the DIY threads or watch YouTube.. and figure it out on your own !!

Cheap Mod Alert...

$6 Black PlastiDip from Walmart did this..



Not sure how many coats I ended up with.. I just kept going until the can was empty.. took less than 2 hours..

On to the next mod...
