    Hello everyone!
I'm fairly new to Tacoma trucks but I used to drive an 89 Mazda B2600. I used to love off-roading with dad and slinging mud with my friends. Anyway, my dad lost a very long battle with cancer and passed in October. He left me his silver 03 TRD that he used exclusively for hunting. I've decided to upgrade it a little and I'm looking for some guidance.

I've scheduled some work to start on 22 Feb. Getting a 3 inch lift, re-tint on the windows, new powder coat black step ups, powder coat the tail light covers, new wheels, new tires, and new brush guard to match the rest of the new hardware. Also, removing mud flaps and window visors.

I'm stuck on the wheels and tires. I thought most Tacoma's in this generation came with 16-5 lug. This one has stock 17-6 lugs. He did put some trail diggers on there but I'm not keeping them. I like the knobby tires but I want a wider stance. At least flush with the flares. So I need to decide in the next week what wheels and tires I want. I think I'm sticking with 17-6 lug, unless there's a good reason not to. Any reasonable recommendations are welcome. Again, the truck is silver

It goes without saying, I'm also looking for advice on the tires. I'll be driving this truck a fair amount so not too much rubbing and I won't redo the gears just yet

Welcome to TW....Sorry for your loss, you might want to re-think powder-coating your tail lights that stuff gets baked on at 400 degrees.
