50+ winds and flying debris did work on our rain flys. Also a cactus came out of nowhere and took out my mirror glass.

question about removing rear axle to replace the axle o-ring. Will I need to remove the emergency brake line to remove the axle to slip on an o ring? Or is there some trick to doing it without removing the emergency brake line?

I R Not Yota Master, but i don't see a way around disconnecting the e brake cable somewhere along the line

I really like it. It has its advantages and disadvantages. I like how easy it is to set up and it’s extremely comfortable and convenient. Also was very impressed how it handled the insane wind we had through the night. It swore the tent was going to be ripped off the roof but she held strong minus the rain fly.

Like most say, it’s a nice tent but if you’re going to be staying in one location multiple days and expect to be driving around instead of a destination to destination trip, it can be a little cumbersome but not as hard as some people think.

 

Could just disconnect at the drum? And is it easily attached after completed. Sorry for the newb question but I have never pulled the axle or removed the e brake line.

 

You could, but that sounds like it might be a PITA to reconnect. Can it be disconnected at the T at the rear axle. That's where id do it.

 

different on 2nd gen.
its real easy to disconnect. hardest part of the job is bleeding the brakes when done. takes more time to bleed then the rest of the job.

 

It doesn't connect at the T there are two lines going to each side traveling down the side of the leaf pack.
This is not my truck but you can see it attached to the leaf pack. I have already disconnected it from the leaf pack but it's still not enough to let the axle come all the way out.

 

I take it you mean the axle housing is what you are trying to remove? I don’t see how the e brake cable can impede the removal of the axle itself? And, yes, you can remove the cable further up the chassis. Remove it at the adjuster paw assembly.

super easy.
2 bolts for the e brake seen in pic
remove brake line from back of master.
remove 4 bolts holding the hub to axle housing
axle slides out.
there is an inner seal and o ring
the outer seal is pressed in with wheel bearing and you need a press at that point a shop that is set up for it.
Edit:forgot remove brake shoes.first.

 

Thanks for the clarity. Axle is a word that requires more definition IMO.

Its another one of those things that gets my goat. Like when people call their Internal Combustion ENGINE a motor. A motor is an electrical device...

 

Stopped at the new 'Fire Wings' on Sunrise in Sac yesterday for lunch. Bomb.

Also, silver DCSB with gunmetal SCS 5's was outside when i left. Nothing else done, CB antenna on the bed rail. Anyone?

You ever been to Jimboy’s Tacos?

We don’t have them out my way but I have driven by the one on Sunset a dozen times. Heard it’s good, and pricey?

Next time I’m up there I think I’ll stop in unless it’s not worth it.

 

Jimboys is a Taco chain up here, there's a ton of them. They're good, but they're fast food, they're better quality than Del and Bell. I tend to go to Taquerias or Carniceria's for the real deal. Jimboys has good taco's though, wife swears by them in all of her 'white girl problems' on #tacotuesday
