Wondering what people are running for camping boxes or overloading boxes. Ones that are watertight and lockable. Like to be able to store on roof rack and/or bed of truck. Need to be secure, if there is such a thing anymore. Be a plus if I could sit and stand on them so they have a dual use.

    Thanks in advance everyone,
    Kevin

    I like the Rubbermaid Actionpackers.

They're "lockable", but really - they're plastic - so they aren't going to be all that "secure"...

The 8 gallon ones are, of course, smaller, but I find that more smaller boxes are better than one bigger box for storage and organization. They are also shorter, which is better if you end up throwing them on a roof rack.

@JaCado thanks for the info. Are they strong enough to stand and sit on?

I guess it depends on your level of "huskiness"... lol

I have one of those stainless steel colman coolers, and I'm hesitant to stand on it too much. I'd say these will hold up to the "in a pinch" standing on them, but if you are regularly using them to stand on to reach stuff on your roof rack, or are big-boned, I'd get a step stool or something for that purpose.

The 8 gallon ones aren't all that tall (may a foot tall), so may not be great to sit on. The 24(?) gallon ones are of course a lot bigger, but probably not as sturdy since they are the same material thickness, just wide/longer, etc...

I have a big outdoor cooler that I use to pack stuff in, fits perfect between the bedsides and between my cab and bed rack. I'd like to find something more low profile that can fit underneath the bed rack in case I need to fill my cooler with actual food/water/beer etc.
