Update: Katzkin = best quality, best customer service

I'm actually researching leather interior for my 2017 Taco and its what brought me to this thread. This really makes me favor going with Katzkins.

 

Update a week later: Katzkin is going to work it out with a local installer (not my Toyota dealer ... makes sense) to get this set up. I'm still waiting for the local shop to hear from the Katzkin rep then call me back, should happen pretty soon.

I guess I'll need to pick a color combo. Anyone want to chime in with suggestions? I like the current look but am open to ideas. TRD Pro logos would be boss.

 

Fuck the steak dinner. Send that rep to a day spa and cover her dinner.

 

This is just an assumption, but maybe when Katskin called the dealer to figure everything out, they ended up making a deal with your dealer to install Katskin covers in their trucks from now on instead. Maybe that's why they didn't mind giving you the new covers for free...

 

OP did you buy the truck with the Katzkins or did you pay $2500? Im lost on that.

 

I'm pretty sure he's just saying it's a $2500 set up. I'm not gonna lie, I skimmed but I don't see him saying "I paid $2500" for these seats...

When I bought the truck, I was led to believe it had $2500 worth of heated & cooled leather.

Unbelievable customer service. I love my @Katzkin Leather Official interior and had nothing but a great experience dealing with them and there dealer here in south Florida. Wish I could have afforded the heated and cooled seats. But hey next time. Hahah. Good luck with your new setup you’ll love it!

Update: Things are about to get real

I went in and picked the leather today. I asked how long a custom setup would take, and the installer said Katzkin usually starts making it the day the order is received and ships it the next day. Incredible! So I've got an appointment to take my truck in next Monday for installation.

Not sure if I said it before, but I almost turned down Katzkin's offer cause I don't feel like I deserve it. Is this what it feels like to win the lottery? But they want to use this to show the world the quality of their leather and customer service, so it's going to be a great looking setup and you'd better believe I'm going to plaster it all over the internet.

 

Pay tens of thousands in advertising or give away a few hundred in product? You deserve it and they are getting something out of it too. Enjoy the ride.

 

Thanks, now I know. The confusing thing is that my seats appear to have genuine Katzkin Degreez coolers, so I didn't have reason to doubt the leather was Katzkin too. Sketchy stuff as usual from the original dealership / installer.

 

INSTALL UPDATE

Dropped the truck off this morning and it was done 5 hours later.
I can't believe how gorgeous this new leather is:

I took pics of the front seats in different lighting so you can see the colors well. The other aftermarket seats (the other brand) were bad color match, you can see in post 122 how different the grey leather is compared to the door panel. These Katzkin colors are spot on.

The difference in leather quality is immediately apparent. The old ones felt like I was sliding around on vinyl, but these Katzkins are soft and have a great feel of top quality leather.

And the smell is amazing. Better than the new car smell.

So there you have it folks, customer service doesn't get any better than that. Thanks, Katzkin!

Katzkin definitely went above and beyond. Good on them. I hope this thread and your experience generates some business for them. They deserve it.

After only 2.5 years the Katzkin tag on the my drivers side is getting frayed. Should I go to the dealer first or just start a thread bashing their quality and customer service to get some new leather?
