I recently installed the front, tranny and case skids on my 16 TRDOR DCLB. There are “cat braces” in the front and also in front of the factory cross member. The instructions told you to remove the ones in front but made no mention of the ones in the rear. I wasn’t sure about removing them but didn’t feel like the skid would sit right if I left them on. Long story short, I removed them and now I’m not sure if I should have. The lines from front to back seem off and not very fluid.

My question is if anyone else has installed these and whether or not you lett them on. I didn’t trash them so I can easily put them on if needed.

    Thanks

If you are talking about the two bars that guard the converters, they get removed. Here are a couple of pics from my install last year .IMAG4338.jpg IMAG4336.jpg

Yes. That’s them. I was afraid as long as I am that I would get too much twist in the whole system. My buddy has a 15 4Runner trail edition and left them on is the main reason I was curious. I didn’t like the way his skid sat on the frame but his lines were straighter front to back. Also, it seemed like the carriage bolts that went through that skid were awfully long without the braces there which made me think they were long for a reason.
