@killerken you a pro detailer? Just curious or do you do it for fun?

I had a lot of products from Ammo NYC and been a big fan of Larrys how to vids. I pretty much just use hydrate and plum cleaner now, as I upgraded to ceramic pro coating.

I agree everything you said, it's not a suit of armor and you can scratch it and ruin the coating if you don't know how to maintain it. Wax/sealant doesn't hold up to the outside elements as good as the ceramic coating in my experience especially vs bird droppings and iron fallout.

I don't even touch my paint other than my wash mit. Chemical decontamination with carpro iron x and tar x and use carpro hydro 02 lite as my sealant spray and rinse off...no need for microfiber anymore. Then just blow dry it off. Been 9 months since it was coated and the paint is smooth as a baby's bottom and the truck is kept outside.

It's a more efficient way of cleaning your vehicle. 90% of the time you can just powerwash/foam your truck and all the dirt is off. Hand wash like 1 or twice a month. Time to clean my truck for a maintenance wash is 45min or even faster.

Ceramic coating just makes your life easier...time is money. And Adulting these days I don't have time to fully detail my vehicles that would take all day to complete.

Video is after I fully detailed after our nasty winter roads of salt etc. Still amazes me!

    Hey Oscolivar1,

I am a weekend mobile detailer as this is not my full time job, but I do have a passion for detailing so I decided to start a side business.

Regarding Coatings, I am not against coatings and if I find one I like I may switch. I do test coatings to try them out when I have time.

Regarding washing I use a pressure washer and a foam cannon to wash all my cars. As I try to touch the paint the least amount that I need to. I also dry with a leaf blower. So a basic wash doesn’t take me long at all.

In the end as a mobile detailer, not all my customers have garages that I can store a coated car over night for 24 hours to ensure it doesn’t get wet.

So at this time I prefer to use AMMO NYC products.

Also when AMMO products are applied properly on a car and maintained properly they are super easy to maintain.

So from this stand point there is no feature or benefit of a coating that makes it better for me then the AMMO system.

My one moto in detailing that I stick to is find products that work for you and stick with them. If you try to many products you will never learn enough about that product and you will spend a fortune for a ton of products which is not cost effective.
