This truck would be a far better buy than a Maxxforce. Depending on the year, it’s either a DT466E with the HEUI fuel system, or it will have the Bosch inline mechanical pump. Either are OK, but the HEUIs can be expensive when things go wrong.

If it’s the DT466E, look for oil leaks from the rear main seal area. If it’s dry, it’s likely had the update seal retainer and seal done already.

You seem to like that Spicer 6+ transmission, but to be honest, they are not great. They can be very sticky to shift, the synchos
and shift mechanism are weak and they are very expensive to repair. The good news, an Eaton 6 spd will fit right in, you just need the front section of the driveshaft lengthened.

My best advice, spend a couple hundo, take it to the International dealer in your area for a full mechanical inspection - have them “plug check” the diff and transmission for anything more than fine filings on the magnetic plugs, and look everything over before you purchase.

For 4500, I’d buy it to flip if it’s as nice as it looks in the pictute

Speaking to my uncle in Minnesota and is interested in taking it off my hands. Going to inspect it more thoroughly and make a final decision tomorrow.
