    The X-Runner (a comparatively rare variant of the 2nd gen tacoma sold only up until 2013 in the continental US) only comes as a V6 6-speed 2WD Access Cab Long Box. It's also 2 inches lower than a base taco and comes with bilstein suspension bits (along with the aero kit/flares you can see in the pics), I had to lower it another 2 inches to get within SCCA CG height regulations. That event was also done on stock swaybars, which as you can see are woefully inadequate for the task.

    I originally bought it to haul my bike, but I'd kill myself if I had to daily something boring so the XR was the perfect choice. I auto-x it because it's hilarious and because RACETRUCK. With my blower I'm classed out of being competitive unless I want to spend an obscene amount of money on a full custom suspension setup for the rear.

    You'd might be surprised to hear that the SCCA in San Antonio allows a certain owner of a 4Runner to race. Although it did require proof of capability. Now said owner races that 4Runner on a road course as well. ;)

    It really comes down to region. My buddy was allowed to run his 5L swapped ranger once, but then was asked not to come back. I had to do some cajoling myself even with a 4 inch drop from stock. It does help that it isn't competitive.

    what size tires are you running? and are those 16" or 17" wheels?

    I like this look a lot.. about to lower my 2nd gen 2" up front and 3.5" out back with an SOS kit as well
