Mini usb to rca?

I'm looking to cast my Samsung s5 screen onto my pioneer 4800 headunit. It only has rca inputs for another source. So my question is what is the easiest way to achieve this? Do I need 2 adaptors? Micro usb to hdmi and then hdmi to rca?

 

I believe the S5 uses micro USB, not mini USB.

 

Found this but it’s mono though.

And every reviewer said it didn’t work.

Why would it work? You're taking a digital signal from the USB and trying to convert it to an analog video signal with only a cable. It doesn't work that way.

 

rob feature, I didn’t consider that as my ipod touch, iphone and ipod classic could output to a tv with just a cable. I dunno if Android phones have the same feature (TV Out On/Off) as their Apple counterparts. Is that TV Out function what coverts the digital signal to analog?

Android is hit and miss with such things...more miss considering all the devices out there. It's something you have to pay attention to when buying a phone if you need that. Or just get a mapple.

A D/A converter handles the transformation. Of the converters I've played with, I've yet to be impressed - even a little.

 

OP, considered trying USB to USB?

 

I use a micro USB to hdmi already to watch streamed sports on my home tv...it works fine on the android. Just have no experience with a hdmi to rca adaptor. Seems I'll need 2 extra USB charging ports to run this in the truck.

 

Your head unit will play video over USB. You certainly can convert to an analog signal to use one of the Pioneer's video inputs, but that complicates things. The 4800 will decode at least mpeg 1, 2 and 4 as well as WMV, AVI & DIVX over USB. Just get a micro USB to A-male (or whatever's on the back of the unit). No adapter required.
