Is the Homelink system in the Limited in the mirror like it is in my Avalon (3 buttons)? If not, where is it located?

Yes, the Homelink is 3 buttons, in the mirror. Standard in Canadian 4x4 TRD Off Road, Sport, Limited and Pro.

That was the only link I saved and I don't seem to have any purchase history in my eBay account. I bought it last september and paid about $150. Gentex makes the mirrors for toyota and I believe the there are several that will work. The seller provided instructions for 2016+ Tacoma's along with a wiring adapter and the hardest part of the job was programming the remote. There may be a thread on here with instructions and pictures if I'm not misremembering. Contact the seller with questions, I think all those mirrors are from the same seller. I got the blue light with compass and auto dimming.

Thanks, I wonder if the swap would be plug and play with an OEM Limited/Toyota mirror? Hmmm.. Wonder if the plugs are the same?

My 2016 has the 'smart' mirror, has 3 buttons for garage doors and shows navigational direction. This thread confuses me, are you trying to get a mirror that does have the buttons? Because a 2017 Limited should have it stock.

Edit: woops disregard, I see you're looking at a Sport and want the mirror, got it.

Limited and SOME pros only. I negotiated my deal for my 17 OR and then made a condition before signing that they swap the mirror out of a limited. At first they thought it was a no brainer, but then they saw that the TOY price for the homelink mirror is $1,000. I didn't budge, I was there , approved, repeat customer, give me the mirror or I am leaving.... agreed to just have them put the mirror in my hand and I would swap it out so they didn't have to pay $100 in labor for a plug and play mirror. It is quite ridiculous especially if you get the tech package that it doesn't come with homelink...

Auroraboy said it was standard on the Canadian TRD's so I would think so, the hard part would be finding a used one. If I remember right the new ones were pretty pricey.

Agreed, it is really the only thing missing from the tech package that really should be there... I do want the Sport though..

Are the connectors the same? Is it just plug and play?

yep, took all of 3 minutes , just need a torx bit to remove the screw, unplug the harness, put the new one up and screw it back in. Done. They are compatible with all as long as you have the auto dimming mirror

It's standard up here on the TRD OR's DCSB's....

Does anyone know if the gentex mirror homelink button works when the power is off? I'd prefer it didn't on the occasion the vehicle is in the driveway.
