I have seen these as well. I haven’t found much info or reviews about them.

I am not sure if you are still looking at the Pirelli's but I am leaving in 5 minutes to have a set of 265/75R16's mounted. I can let you know how they are and/or take photos for you if you want.

I recently installed these in the 285/75r16 size. I got these tires because they are one of the few tires in this size that come in a C load rating. There are very few reviews online but almost all of them are positive. With that said I have been told that Pirelli has stopped importing these.

I hope they are still available in the future. Just used mine off road and they were amazing.

    What's wrong with E-load tires?

Other than being heavier nothing. I just think they they are overkill for a lighter truck like ours. My goal was to find the lightest wheel/aggressive tire combination.

Nothing. C rated tires are rated for lighter loads than the P rated tires that came on the truck. But they do have tougher sidewalls which I think overall makes them a better off road tire. The C rated tires are really intended for SUV's like Wranglers that aren't intended to carry heavy loads.

Some guys are afraid that E rated tires will ride too harshly on lightweight Tacoma's. I agree that E's aren't needed and in most cases a P, D, or C rated tire is just fine on a Tacoma. But if you figure out which tire pressure works best even E rated tires aren't that stiff. When I left the tire store they aired up my E's to 50 PSI, just like they would on a full size truck. The ride home was firm, but I lowered them to 35 PSI and they are wearing evenly and are the best riding tires I've had on the truck.

Yea, way overkill for a truck that weighs as much as a Tacoma. Seems to be the latest fad but they kill mileage for no reason and you have to run them aired low unless you want a crap ride.

Not talking crap, people like what they like, I just didn’t want to put commercial truck tires on my mid size

    I don't have a problem with mine. I had 265/70/16 Firestone Destination A/T C-load:
    20180530_135052.jpg

And they ride the same as my new 265/75/16 BFGoodrich KO2. These are 1 inch bigger, and are E-load. They didn't even affect my MPG's.

People in Texas seem to like Pirelli Scorpion tires in 275/35/20 on their F-150's. These tires are quite common here.

It’s just not needed on a Tacoma, I’m not saying they’ll cause problems. You probably had the C and E psi’s the same or close right? Well in the E your less than half way to full pressure.

As far as not impacting mpg’s, in a similar tire an E can and usually does weight around 10 pounds more than a C. That’s generally enough to cause a drop in efficiency but I’m glad you avoided that.

Bilstein 8112s up front with Icon rxt springs and bilstein 8100s in the rear. About 2" of lift front and rear.

Yes, people told me to stay away from E's, but I pulled the trigger, and I'm happy that they didn't affect my gas mileage by much. They didn't affect the steering either, so I'm really happy with the result.
