    Hello all,

I'm new to this site, and thought it might be worth sharing some pics of the roof rack my friend and I built for his 2nd gen tacoma this past weekend. The goal was simple, low profile, and as light as possible. It bolts to the rails installed on his snug top and measures about 4'x7'

He will finish it off with paint and a fairing.

It' not chromoly, just HREW. Chromoly would have been needless overkill and too spendy for a roof rack like this.

I can't imagine shipping to PA would be affordable. Regarding the length, neither of us felt comfortable with any more unsupported run of tubing with out adding a vertical side bar. His primary goal was to be able to carry a 17 foot canoe, to the rack was designed with this in mind.

Depending on where you are in nor-cal, I could probably build you one. I would need the truck here at my house in 96093 though.

We discovered that whomever mounted the tracks on the snugtop didn't align them perfectly so the mounting foot spacing was off on one side. We elected to center the rack to the truck, and then let the mounting feet land where ever they had to. Kinda frustrating considering that a "professional" installed the tracks.....

I bet if you hooked up your antenna wire to that you could get radio stations from Russia. Again, nice job.
