I scored a set of mobtown rock sliders off craigslist last week and I was getting around to installing them this week since it has warmed up and noticed that the drivers side slider hits the pinch seam in the front and is close to the seam along the entire side and on the passenger side I have like 1" of clearance....Is my body out of wack or am I doing something wrong?

    None as of yet
check to make sure the wire brackets on the driver side are not behind the slider plate pushing it out or making it bolt up funky.
Another posiblity is the previous owner came down hard on the and tweaked them hence the reason for ditching them. lay them on smooth flat floor like your garage and see if they have a warp to them.

I considered that maybe they had been bent but there isn't a mark on them and they laid flat in the parking lot before I was installing them, I just want to see if I'm doing something wrong with the install?

That's how they are designed. I think they now make they new sets with a little more gap. But mine do the same.

My driver side slider (RCI) was contacting the pinch weld as well. I think it may have something to do with the cab mounting driver vs. passenger from truck to truck.

I ended up stacking a couple washers on the bolts on the bottom of the frame rail to gain some clearance.

We learned that on the 2016 models something is up with the body mounts on the drivers side and the slider sits closer to the pinch seam. At first we thought it was our fixture, but we triple checked and worked with many people with the same issue. The only thing we could come up with was there was a tolerance issue from Toyota. We have not seen this issue on 2017 - current. It was an intermittent issue in the 2016s, some were fine others were way off.

A solution that often works is loosen the hardware, put a floor jack under the last square tube leg at the back of the truck and pump it up to the point the truck begins to lift off the ground. This should put the rock slider parallel with the pinch seam. Then go through and tighten all your hardware, starting at the back and moving forward.

If you have any other problems feel free to contact us on here or call at 833-MOBTOWN.
