Spray paint works. Thats how we had nice & shiny tires on our trucks in the army anytime we had an inspection.

Not just any mud though, needs to be a specific mineral rich mud...only time I've seen it is in coal rich areas in Kentucky

I’ve seen this happen before on a job site, running semi trucks through a muddy site trying to plate said mud with base. Never knew what caused it but now I know! Neat.

Op to try and clean it off I would just give the wheels a good scrubbing with some soap and a wheel brush. Then maybe some type of rubber conditioner/tire shine/back to black might work if it’s still there.

I've seen from mud from parts on both Texas and Louisiana, tire compound probably plays a role also, I also have wranglers so that might be the common variable

So, did you try washing it off?

A quick internet check revealed that some reported washing it off and it never happening again - suggesting that it was a reaction with the chemicals in whatever tire protectant the dealer put on to make your truck tires look all purdy.

@jbrandt Unfortunately I have not had time to try and wash it off. It does seem to be fading on its own. I have a feeling you are right about the cleaner used at the dealership.

Yeah, you have a new(er) turd gen, I mean a third gen, so you probably still have that shiny crap they put on at the dealer...

I hate it when the dealer puts armor-all on the tires. They usually over spray that crap on the treads, and it's nothing but burnouts until it wears off.

I don't even bother with those tire "cleaners" since those usually leave a slick film on the tread too, and I don't really care if I have shiny tires on my 14 year old truck. :)

My mountain bike tires turn blue after a few weeks of dusty riding in Utah as well.
