It’s one of the adjustments on the alignment. It’s the adjustment for how far forward your tires are set.

Just be ready to retire in every way before you actually retire. I was ready to retire financially 3 years ago but waited until last year to actually retire. You need to have some hobbies or work to keep you from going nuts. Doing nothing can become very boring very quickly. Obviously, one of my hobbies is modding my Tacoma but I also have a lot of other things so that now I seem to be busier than when I was working.

I finally got around to properly fitting my 285/70/17 under the truck properly! I’m not sure how anyone claims to fit them with no problems. I think I did it “the right way”, if there is a right way.

First, I removed the spare tire elevator, fished out the bolts (not easy), and had it welded a couple inches toward the rear of the truck. No need to smash down the two tabs, and PLENTY of clearance away from the differential.

Next, we cut the exhaust hanger and re-welded it so the exhaust pipe is shifted a couple inches to the right. Nothing else. I thought maybe the tailpipe would stick out too far, but I barely notice it any different than stock. (My other option was to chop the exhaust over the axle, but this works.

Here’s the finished product! The tire sits ½ inch behind my hitch receiver (ball mount fits, but longer ones might pose an issue on other trucks)

Agree. If you are like me, I stay busy but if the deer are moving, turkeys are gobbling, or fish are biting in the flats, I ain't gotta ask for time off. I just fucking go.

So, if i lock the tailgate, do i need one of these?

If so, does also having a diamondback tonneau cover change this.

I just don't grasp how these work.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
The tailgates are designed for easy removal when open by just lifting up on the passenger side. If you don't like locking your tailgate all the time they are a great detergent. If you always lock your tailgate they are not really needed.
