265/65/17 or 265/70/17?

What's the difference between 65 or 70? Will it be noticeable? Or not worth the money. My tires are the stock trd sport wheel/tire.

 

It's a little bigger so your truck will look a little cooler and have a little more clearance. It will also decrease you acceleration a little and lower your mpg a little.

You just bought a new truck, splurge a little and go with the 70 series.

Just purchased 265/70/R17's - getting em mounted, balanced, and an alignment done on Thursday - look for the before and after pictures posted thursday night. I'm thinking that plus the 5100's front and rear for a slightly better ride/stance and I'm golden.

 

What brand tires did you get? I have always had bfg at, but now Im thinking about the duratrac's instead!

 

Nokian WRg2 All-Weather, I'll be writing a detailed review on the tire in the coming days and plan on keeping it updated for a year so it covers all seasons/weather.

 

i have 265 70 17 love them glad i made the switch. I lost a little mpg but power feels the same. the the difference in mpg is minor. I usually go with BFG this time I went with the General AT2 and I really like how they look for the price theyre a great bang for buck but if you can afford the duratechs do it or the new grabber or toyo

 

The main thing is that the 70 is a little taller than the 65, width is the same.

 

Hey guys, I’ve never upgraded to bigger tires before. If I switch to 265/70/17 from the 65/17, I would have to change the rims, correct? Or do they fit on the same rims? I know the 70/17 is 1” taller, but the same width.

 

I am looking to do the same size switch to my sport rims. You can use the same rims to move up to a 70 size.
