Not GX related but I said goodbye to one of my Toyotas today. Well... Part of it.

Nope, just clearing room in the shop for the next project. I kept everything but the body and frame. I have a 22R with propane kit, front and rear axles with 5.29s and Detroit's, transmission, transfer case with 4.7 gears, leaf springs, steering box, Marlin Crawler high steer kit, and 38.5" TSL SX tires on beadlocks sitting in the shop now waiting to go into something.

No updates on the GX due to the house hunt. But update on the puppy build. She's not a beagle. Apparently she's full fledged coonhound. She's around 6 months and has surpassed full grown beagle size already. She'll end up around the size of a lab.

Leaving this here as a running list if what's on my "to do" list before I start modding again. Have some maintenance items to take care of...

    PS pump
    PS reservoir
    PS pressure line
    PS return line
    Tie rods
    LCAs
    Rebuild/revalve shocks
    Steering rack bushings
Rear control arm bushings (replace arms with aftermarket?)

Fuck, I need someone to sponsor my rig and pick up the bill for this shit.

I’m slowly turning the family gx into an adventure rig.
Removed the electronic shocks. Bilstein yellows all around. 2014 prerunner front springs.

Looks good man. Those wheels really make a difference in the overall look of the truck... I dig it!

    @Balockay

How do you like your hefty engine skid? When I bought my truck, it was missing part of the engine cover “skid” that conceals the area around the oil filter. Trying to get something that not only protects some of those vitals parts, but also just keeps it tucked away from everyday driving.

You have any photos of the skid from underneath? Be curious what it looks like

Thank you. I need to finish burning up these dueler HT’s so I can put some better all terrain tires on.

I like it but the fit isn't perfect. I'll probably rock it a little bit longer and then replace it with a set of full skids from ASFIR 4x4 or similar. But that's low on the priority list right now. Need to get my steering and front end knocked out first. No pic of it from the underside but I can get one later probably. It's nothing special though, just a big sheet of aluminum lol.

Cool, yeah Id love to see a picture of it. I'm not really looking for anything crazy at this point, just something to keep my shit tucked away from the elements. Last weekend I was out on a day-trip and between hitting some gravel roads, water crossings, and some rocky terrain, I was like; "yeaahhh I need something under there." Not a fan of having things exposed, and I've been pushing my luck the last couple of months with nothing underneath. Lol

Do you a link to the skid you bought?

Finally got around to getting some new rear coils. Now I won't be riding on bumpstops pulling the travel trailer to Jambo in a couple weeks! I'll get them installed either tomorrow or Monday.

Curious how nice your whip rides on those new coils when you get 'em put on. I took my truck for another off-road trip today and am surprised the rear airbags are still holding up. Shocks/bags look almost original underneath, so now it's a waiting game for me. Need an excuse to drop in a whole new lift kit when something goes bad with the current setup.

It's not going to ride nice at all lol. These springs are built for 400 lbs of extra weight. And I have none yet lol .
