Did some early presidents day deal shopping. Ordered four 255 85r16 ST maxx and Three 235 85r16 Falken AT3 from discount tire.

Also picked up a trailer tounge tool box from harbor freight. 20180215_132804.jpg 20180215_132816.jpg
The plan is to Install the battery in the box (it will be vented) as well as a real battery shut off switch and an outdoor charge/power station mounted to the side. Also planning a deployable 200 watt solar set up. The PCM for that will be mounted in the box as well.

Also going with dual 20lb propane tanks over the single 30 since it's way easier to find places that exchange 20s on the road.

Accumulating a bunch of a parts but everything is in holding pattern until the suspension and new coupler go on.

I did a dual battery setup in one of those boxes. The box works good, but give it a repaint before you do your final install. The original paint doesn’t last long. I’m lovin’ the mods your doing to your trailer! Here's a pic of my battery box from my old trailer

The front switch is a master battery disconnect. The toggle switch turns on/off some small solar panels I put on the lid of the box. The third thing is a plug to hook up my big remote solar panels (I think they are called SAE connectors). I also put a positive and negative post (Moroso brand) on the other side to for charging the batteries without having to open the lid

Nice I really like how you have that set up. What solar panels are you running? I can't decide if I want something that folds up or if I want to mount panels to the roof of the camper.

Also looking for that solar plug on Amazon and can't find it? Do you know what is called?

I have portable Coleman panels. I also thought about roof panels for my new Starcraft trailer, but I find places I usually camp has a lot of tree cover that would make non movable panels less effective. The portable panels allow me to move them throughout the day to remain in the sun. I bought 2 25’ extension cables as well so I can place my panels pretty much anywhere. I have an extra SAE connector just like the one in my picture that you are welcome to as my new Starcraft has a factory installed solar system I plug my panels into. The plug will work if you get panels that have the SAE style plug (like the Coleman ones. FYI the Coleman panels are made by Sunforce)

Awesome! Thanks for the parts list. I just need to decide if I want to mount them or have the deployable unit. We too camp under trees allot so I do worry about overall functionally, plus it woukd be nice to tilt them. It would also be nice to not have to worry about locking them up when we leave camp or set anything up.

I use 4 of these linked together
You should be good to run your fan and stereo with that. I find if I’m conservative with power usage, and have a decent amount of sun during the day for the panels my 2 group 27 batteries stay decently charged. I have dry camped for 5 days without a problem, using the lights and heater at night, fan during the day. I think having the dual batteries is the key.

Awesome thanks man! This info is invaluable. I really don't know squat about solar. I'll probably figure out something else to ask you soon :notsure:

So a few hundredths of an inch just screwed my evening up. I just received the new mag seat lug nuts for the camper and realised they are 1/2-20 thread and Tacoma wheels usually mount on 12-1.5. No big deal except the shank diameter is a few hundredths of and inch different I.E. loose fitting wheels:( I might be able to make it work but too much reliability risk for a vanity upgrade.

Moving forward: I got a good deal on the wheels and tires so I'll offload them for the same price and order some 16x6 black steelies. On the bright side I'm still waiting for tires to come in so didn't waste any money on mounting and balancing. :anonymous:

    Damn it!

Oh well, it was a noble try. The black steelies will look/work good

Right! I looked into different hubs, wheel adapters and lug nuts but just couldn't find a safe option.

Me too! I'd think there would be a market for 1/2 - 20 lug nuts with a .752 diameter shank but nothing

@hellppy We must have not asked enough for those wheels. It only took me an hour to unload them for the same price lol.

Haha, yeah I gave you the TW/FF price for those. Hopefully, the new "owner" doesn't flip them for a profit!

Hopefully!! It was a younger guy with a second gen so I believe he'll use them.
