Picture was poor but it seems to throw more light. You can see the stuff in background a little better. I did notice a big difference when backing into to my daily spot. Just didn’t have a comparison shot to show.

Yeah I'm sure @crashnburn80 Will agree photos rarely show the difference to the true degree. In fact the oem pic looks like it's seeing more stuff in the background towards the upper left. I'm sure the IR bulbs are much brighter in person.

Photographing lighting is difficult as is. Photographing lighting displayed on a monitor photographed by another camera which adjusts for lighting conditions makes comparing different light sources by photos taken at different times nearly impossible.

Just ordered mine from Lampline! This is a very cool mod and not very expensive. One question, Do you still have to bend the bulb prongs or can you just bend the lamp socket prongs? Which is better? I did order three bulbs just in case:)

Just bend the socket prongs with a mini screwdriver. The metal is very malleable. That way there is no risk of breaking a bulb by bending the bulb prongs. I've done this to my reverse lights for a total of 200k+ miles and the bulbs have stayed secure.

I did this mod a week ago. I haven't had a chance to try them out in night time yet, but they should be so much better than the Philips LED I used to have for the last couple years.

Finally had a few minutes and installed mine. Now I can’t wait till dark just to try them.

Just wish I had initially realized that when I ordered them, they come in single bulbs. Not pairs.

Ok I’m sold. I don’t know why I never did this a long time ago. The LED’s I had were cheap and made it tough to see in the camera, at best. Now these light up everything! Thanks OP for your info, time and research!

    About halfway done...
    Thanks, @crashnburn80
I ended up getting the Osram 35w first then saw your new link to the Philips 30w. So I got those also mainly thinking less heat from the Philips would be better.
The Osram35W arrived crushed in a soft envelope. Not ideal but bulbs where undamaged.
The Philips30w arrived in a box. Then I installed. Definitely brighter but don't have a light meter to prove it.
For install bending, the socket prong worked well, nice snug fit.

Would these cause a problem towing with boat trailer or would it be to much current

Welcome to TW! You’d need to do the math on the lights for the trailer compared to what is left in the circuit. The 30w Philips bulb will draw 5A compared to the 5.8A from the Osrams. I believe it is a 10A circuit. Better chance if your trailer lights are LED vs incandescent.

I do plan on making a stand-alone related harness for my reverse lights which will make them quite a bit brighter and remove the load from the trailer circuit.

The headlights will operate on the factory fuses without the wiring upgrade, but you will be seriously shortchanging yourself on their potential. Direct oversized wiring to the battery in a standalone system will have significant performance improvements over stock when running over wattage bulbs.

The 85/80w bulbs operate at higher efficiency and are recommended over the 90/100w bulbs, unless you need extreme high beam.

Not sure why people are wanting to 'upgrade' their interior lights to harsher output. The high intensity blue light from LEDs hurts your night vision. You want soft low color temps for maximum night vision visibility, kinda like stock.

Can't see sh*t backing up into my garage, ordered a couple bulbs, it'll be nice to get them installed and see if it makes a difference.

Did this mod today using the Philips 30w bulbs on the families new Ford Ecoboost Escape, which is getting all the lighting upgrades. Way easier on the Tacoma.
