I really like this 2.7L for it’s traditional and straightforward design...but it is emissions happy. Being from a different car era, I wasn’t too familiar with all the emissions stuff, so decided it was time to learn. In doing that, figured I’d create this guide and post it up for all those who love this little 4 cylinder. Hope it helps out a few folks.

The main pic has the basic parts identified, then its been split out into 4 quadrants with more details in each. (It’s a 2017 Automatic)

 My 2tr-fe is a reall POS and will be yanked soon. Probably replaced with a junkyard 2tr. I wasn't able to read all of this but I'll come back to it later. Looks like a great post!

Super cool graphic! I already knew most of this but I love looking at it regardless.

To add a little to the "Air Cover" item, and what it actually is; It's a Heimholtz resonator for the intake tract.

I won't bog down into the math of it too much because, well, I don't really understand much of it myself:

TL;DR It's some Japanese Space Magic™ that works on the same principle as blowing over the neck of a beer bottle to make a noise.
Only instead of making noise, the air actually "vibrates" in perfect sync with the intake valves opening and closing and actually creates a small but noticeable boost pressure.

It's how engineers have made the 2TR's torque curve so flat and solid, when you have a RPM range where you notice a pronounced dip in torque, you add one of these.

The fuel lines are backwards. Yes I am sure. I had water in my fuel and had to pump some out on the trail into a water bottle

The automatic transmission on my 2.7 has a dipstick (thank God). It's toward the passenger side from the brake booster.

While I know most of the stuff, this is a very cool thread. How many times have folks wanted a parts locator manual to see if a job was worth undertaking or handing off to somebody with more experience, better tools, or just smaller arms?!?! LOL!

    Does anyone with the 2TR-FE
    2.7 Liter,
and the AC60F 6 spd auto trans have a set of Torque Pro PID equations for the trans temp readings?

I believe you're looking for voltage or resistance calibration, PIDs for sensor reading doesn't make sense. If you're controlling a motor then I'd believe you need PIDs

I'm not sure that I understand your comment.
I order to check the transmission fluid level on the new 6 speed transmission, you need to determine that the transmission is between ~113 and 127 degrees F.
There are known working Torque Pro PIDs to read the two transmission temperature sensors for the 6 speed auto transmission with the V6 engine on the 3rd gen Tacos. I have tried those with my Torque Pro app, and they don't work with my truck. I'm looking for the PIDs that will allow me to read the trans temps for my 6 speed auto transmission with the 3rd gen 2.7 in-line 4 cylinder engine. Yes, the output is probably a voltage or resistance which the app translates into a temp reading.
    Thanks.

Strange, ultragauge trans temp worked on my '17 with v6 but won't work with the '19 with 4 cyl. Sure would like to have a code
