That Cluster is Cable driven right?

 

no it is on the same plug as the v6 models, it is all electric unit.

 

Interesting how it has the mechanical odo but it's not Cable driven. Always wondered about that.

 

yes, i have only seen digital dash before but i know it will work, im sure it was just a cost cutting measure for the base model

Yes, they are all digital (plug in the back) after 96 i think it was. My truck originally had the rolling odo, and i swapped out to a digital LCD odo because it had a tachometer in the cluster. They are literally plug and play even if you dont have a tach from factory. Its already built into the harness already. You just need to match your cluster to what your engine size is. You cant use a V6 cluster on a 4cyl because the RPM will read wrong.

 

97's are cable driven, they changed to digital on the 98 models, at least on the 4 cylinders.
