just recently got my ome 885 installed with 5100s. Top nut is touching the washer and it’s touching the bushing but both the bushing and washer spin. I put as much as I could on this thing and it barely budged. It ain’t going any tighter. Both sides. Passenger is a little snugger. Thanks!

Here’s a picture. It’s close but still leaves room to spin it.

Generally speaking, I believe the rubber spacer should be bulged out to the diameter of the retaining washer.
So no, it doesn't look right.

Hate to ask, but are you using an adjustable wrench on the top of the strut where the red arrow is to hold the strut in place?

I had 5100's and stock coils awhile back. While traveling the Mojave Road I heard a washer rattling, looking back at it now it like yours does now. Turns out the collar on the piston that sits under the lower bushing broke. Maybe yours came pre broken? :pccoffee::notsure:

This same thing happened with my last set of 5100s, but with Eibach coils.

OP, are you sure the washers and whatnot were installed in the correct order?

Some people in the following thread also discuss failed washers on the 5100s, but it doesn't seem that's the case with you if you just installed them.

I’m not sure. It was put on by my local shop. I may just head up there Monday and see what they say.

That top bushing should be tighten to where it 'swells' about 1/8".
